Bystronic machinery to be highlighted on National Geographic Special

Hauppauge NY, February 7, 2007… In an episode of “The Ultimate Factory”, National Geographic will present a tour of the John Deere Harvester Works facility. Covering more than 359,000 square yards, the John Deere factory houses more than 2,000 employees, 49 robotic welders, eight laser cutters and nearly 9 miles of overhead track-- all of which help stamp, press, cut, and weld 60,000 tons of steel into the JohnSTS Combine (a harvesting mega-machine). With its 21st century technology and human innovation, the John Deere mega story shows the raw power behind one of agriculture's

most vital machines. During the program, viewers will have the opportunity to see Bystronic’s laser cutting machines in action. An exceptional number of viewers tuned in on Feb. 7 at 10 PM to see the introductory segment which will repeat on 2/24 and 3/15.
